Did you start piano as a child and stopped soon after? Did you get frustrated? Have you always wanted to try again?Well, it's NEVER TOO LATE!In this 5 week program, you will learn how to create chords and use basic rhythms to improvise and create your own songs or learn some popular favorites.  The instructor, James Eric Rogers has over 45 years of piano experience and is a local musician, as well as an art and science teacher. There will be individual one-on-one instruction in each class so you can learn new skills.  James will teach you how to teach yourself.  With practice, you will be the hit at your next gathering!Keyboards will be provided for the use in class. If you were in the first session and want to continue your skills, you can sign up for the second session and keep going where you left off. Each class is individualized for where you are at that time. Come join Salem’s own ukulele club! Ukulele Magic is made up of a fun group of enthusiastic people who enjoy playing and singing music. We also perform for a variety of Salem community events. Ukulele Magic members play songs they like, often choosing new songs and bringing new music to share. They play a variety of music that ranges from a beginner to a moderate level. New beginner members will need to learn basic chords in order to participate successfully. Join Salem Park, Recreation, and Community Services for Friday Field Trip Mania! Emails will be sent out prior to each field trip with specific details, but please plan on sending your child with a bag packed with a lunch, water, sunscreen, and a towel or something to sit on grass. Please make sure that your contact information (phone and email) is correct, as this is how we will be communicating times, changes, rain dates, etc. These trips are separate from our regular playground programs. Registration for a Mon-Thurs playground program does not reserve a spot on the field trips. Any questions about these trips, please email kmedeiros@salem.comPlease see below for details about each field trip: June 27th: Canobie Lake Park- We are excited to announce a trip to Canobie Lake Amusement Park in Salem, NH. We do not recommend sending your child on this field trip if they are not a fan of rides. * This trip is filled to capacity. This field trip consists of 2 hours of jumping at Skyzone in Danvers, and then lunch/a picnic at Endicott Park. Skyzone socks are included in your purchase, but all parents must complete this waiver when you register. Any child without a waiver will not be able to jump. In the case of inclement weather, we will be returning to the Community Life Center after skyzone and pickup time will change.
