Have you always wanted to try again?Well, it's NEVER TOO LATE!In this 5 week program, you will learn how to create chords and use basic rhythms to improvise and create your own songs or learn some popular favorites.  The instructor, James Eric Rogers has over 45 years of piano experience and is a local musician, as well as an art and science teacher. There will be individual one-on-one instruction in each class so you can learn new skills.  James will teach you how to teach yourself.  With practice, you will be the hit at your next gathering!Keyboards will be provided for the use in class. Join us to shake up your writing soul!  If you already love creative writing, or want to dive deeper into the craft, this course is for you.  We'll use written and visual prompts to stretch our writing muscles.  The takeaway can be a new piece you are proud of, discovering new tools to fuel your creativity, or just enjoying the writing zone with others.You can use fiction, non-fiction, poetry;whatever speaks to you.  Our main goal is to write with gusto!  We'll share some of our responses to the prompts throughout the class.  You will need to bring a notebook and pen/pencil (computer if you prefer).Instructor Katie Lueders gravitated toward writing from an early age. Hosted by the North Shore AAPI Coalition, this Spring Festival celebrates May's AAPI heritage month with free refreshments, drinks, and activities, including a music workshop where participants will learn a Hawaiian song on the ukulele, and a kite making workshop! General ticket is for food and attendance and does not include workshop access, *please sign up for each workshop separately.* - Children 12 and under must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.  Hawaiian Music on the Ukulele with Miyabe Shields:  1:30 to 2:15pm Join one of North Shore AAPI Coalition's Spring Festival workshops! In a 30-45 minute workshop, local musician Miyabe Shields will teach participants to play a Hawaiian song on the ukulele to celebrate Asian American Pacific Islanders Heritage Month.- Children 12 and under must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.- Limit of 15 spots   Kite Making and Decorating with Rachel TonThat: 2:00 to 3:30pm Join one of North Shore AAPI Coalition's Spring Festival workshops! In a 60-90 minute arts and crafts workshop, artist Rachel TonThat will lead the assembly and decoration of kites to celebrate Asian American Pacific Islanders Heritage Month using fabric, paint, and other art supplies. Please sign up using one member of the family only. - Children 12 and under must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.- Kites will be distributed to groups of 2 to 4 people- Limit of 25 kites (and groups)

Community members are invited to learn and play the timeless tile game of Riichi (Japanese style) Mahjong from an experienced tournament player.  All supplies and teaching materials provided free of charge by the Riichi Mahjong Society of Massachusetts.  This is a program for all experience levels.Ages: 18+Date: Mondays, March 31st - May 19th.
