New beginner members will need to learn basic chords in order to participate successfully. Writing on a Whim - Writing on a Whim
Join us to shake up your writing soul! If you already love creative writing, or want to dive deeper into the craft, this course is for you. We'll use written and visual prompts to stretch our writing muscles. The takeaway can be a new piece you are proud of, discovering new tools to fuel your creativity, or just enjoying the writing zone with others.You can use fiction, non-fiction, poetry;whatever speaks to you. Our main goal is to write with gusto! We'll share some of our responses to the prompts throughout the class. Ukulele Magic Club - Ukulele Magic Club - Fall Session
Come join Salem’s own ukulele club! Ukulele Magic is made up of a fun group of enthusiastic people who enjoy playing and singing music. We also perform for a variety of Salem community events. Ukulele Magic members play songs they like, often choosing new songs and bringing new music to share. They play a variety of music that ranges from a beginner to a moderate level. New beginner members will need to learn basic chords in order to participate successfully. Thanksgiving Cheer for Salem Seniors - Thanksgiving Cheer for Salem Seniors
Send Salem Seniors some Thanksgiving Day cheer! Each year the Friends of the Salem Council on Aging provide Thanksgiving dinners to homebound Salem seniors. We are asking the community to assist us in creating homemade cards to include with their meal. Please drop off cards to the Salem Community Life Center, 401 Bridge St. Cards can be dropped off Monday- Friday from 8:00am-4:00pm.We are collecting cards until Friday, November 21st Any questions, please contact Kyle Medeiros at 978-744-0924

Animals and Behavior - Animals and Behavior
In this 4 week class, participants will learn about animal behaviors, adaptations, and interactions. They will investigate bird beaks, predator and prey relationships, animal tracks, food chains, and food webs. Children will make and take home a food chain model, their own plaster hand print, and a mythical beast that they will create. Japanese Mahjong: Learn and Play - Japanese Mahjong: Learn and Play
Community members are invited to learn and play the timeless tile game of Riichi (Japanese style) Mahjong from an experienced tournament player. All supplies and teaching materials provided free of charge by the Riichi Mahjong Society of Massachusetts. Fit Circuit - Fit Circuit - Session Two
Under the guidance of local fitness instructor Beth Schultz, participants will work through a guided circuit of cardio, strength and body weight work. Treadmills and exercise bike will be used for the cardio aspect, weights will be used for strength and planks, crunches and squats will be used for the body weight. Writing on a Whim - Writing on a Whim
Join us to shake up your writing soul! If you already love creative writing, or want to dive deeper into the craft, this course is for you. We'll use written and visual prompts to stretch our writing muscles. The takeaway can be a new piece you are proud of, discovering new tools to fuel your creativity, or just enjoying the writing zone with others.You can use fiction, non-fiction, poetry;whatever speaks to you. Our main goal is to write with gusto! We'll share some of our responses to the prompts throughout the class. You will need to bring a notebook and pen/pencil (computer if you prefer).Instructor Katie Lueders gravitated toward writing from an early age. She developed her own writing voice with a local group for years, continuing on to explore other workshops/classes in the Northeast.
