Ukulele Magic members play songs they like, often choosing new songs and bringing new music to share. They play a variety of music that ranges from a beginner to a moderate level. New beginner members will need to learn basic chords in order to participate successfully. Join us to shake up your writing soul!  If you already love creative writing, or want to dive deeper into the craft, this course is for you.  We'll use written and visual prompts to stretch our writing muscles.  The takeaway can be a new piece you are proud of, discovering new tools to fuel your creativity, or just enjoying the writing zone with others.You can use fiction, non-fiction, poetry;whatever speaks to you.  Our main goal is to write with gusto!  We'll share some of our responses to the prompts throughout the class.  You will need to bring a notebook and pen/pencil (computer if you prefer).Instructor Katie Lueders gravitated toward writing from an early age. In this class students will be introduced to the printmaking process of Linocut. The class will cover the techniques in carving linoleum, composition, ink mixing, and printing.  At your own pace, participants will learn how to create a design and carve it in linoleum using carving tools.  You will learn how to ink and print their linoleum blocks by hand.  In a relaxed and welcoming environment, participants will create many beautiful prints of their own as well as collaborate with others.  This class is suitable for beginners and can be adjusted for all levels of experience. Brooke will be offering a class in March and another class in May. He helped lead SHS to a perfect 25–0 season and state championship before earning a college scholarship and later transitioning into coaching and youth development. With years of experience coaching and mentoring student-athletes, Jamaal is passionate about teaching fundamentals, leadership, and confidence through the game of basketball.Zach Zegarowski- Zach is a former UMass Lowell scholarship basketball player with over 25 years of experience coaching and developing young athletes. He has coached at the high school and elite AAU levels, helping dozens of student-athletes earn college opportunities. Come join Salem’s own ukulele club! Ukulele Magic is made up of a fun group of enthusiastic people who enjoy playing and singing music. We also perform for a variety of Salem community events. Ukulele Magic members play songs they like, often choosing new songs and bringing new music to share. They play a variety of music that ranges from a beginner to a moderate level. New beginner members will need to learn basic chords in order to participate successfully. The Ukulele Magic website has instructional videos for beginners to learn basic chords at home. https://sites.google.com/view/salemstringjam/salem-ukulele-magic We meet every Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 and are led by Melissa Graham.
