Kites

Hosted by the North Shore AAPI Coalition, this Spring Festival celebrates May's AAPI heritage month with free refreshments, drinks, and activities, including a music workshop where participants will learn a Hawaiian song on the ukulele, and a kite making workshop! General ticket is for food and attendance and does not include workshop access, *please sign up for each workshop separately.*
 
- Children 12 and under must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
 
 
Hawaiian Music on the Ukulele with Miyabe Shields: 
 
1:30 to 2:15pm
 
Join one of North Shore AAPI Coalition's Spring Festival workshops! In a 30-45 minute workshop, local musician Miyabe Shields will teach participants to play a Hawaiian song on the ukulele to celebrate Asian American Pacific Islanders Heritage Month.

- Children 12 and under must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
- Limit of 15 spots 
 
 
Kite Making and Decorating with Rachel TonThat:
 
2:00 to 3:30pm
 
Join one of North Shore AAPI Coalition's Spring Festival workshops! In a 60-90 minute arts and crafts workshop, artist Rachel TonThat will lead the assembly and decoration of kites to celebrate Asian American Pacific Islanders Heritage Month using fabric, paint, and other art supplies. Please sign up using one member of the family only.
 
- Children 12 and under must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
- Kites will be distributed to groups of 2 to 4 people
- Limit of 25 kites (and groups)
