During this two day program, children will use their super sleuthing powers to solve the mysteries of the deep ocean. We will learn about the creatures of the deep, adaptations for living in dark and pressure filled environments, and so much more. We will actively discuss life in the oceans around us, the impact of climate change, and how to ge good ocean stewards. Children will spend part of each day on the beach and/or in the water (up to knees only).
Instructor, KC Bloom is the coordinator of the Recreation Management concentration and a faculty member at Salem State University. KC has taught numerous nature related courses, worked in state parks and spends as much time in the woods or on the ocean as possible with her family.
Children must turn 4 years old prior to the start of the program.
Children should bring a snack, water bottle, bagged lunch each day.
Because we are outdoors, we ask that you apply sunscreen prior to dropping your child off each morning. We also ask that you have your child bring water shoes, a hat, and a change of clothing.
