Oceans Explorers: Pirates and Mermaids

During this two day program, children will learn about the history and stories associated with pirates and mermaids. Participants will learn about animals such as the manatees which were often mistaken for mermaids, the myths and truths about ocean exploring and so much more through stories, art and hand-on exploration. Children will spend part of each day on the beach and /or in the water (up to knees only). Every program is multi-sensory and filled with a combinatation of hands-on nature exploration, science discoveries, physical movement, art and so much more.
Instructor, KC Bloom is the coordinator of the Recreation Management concentration and a faculty member at Salem State University. KC has taught numerous nature related courses, worked in state parks and spends as much time in the woods or on the ocean as possible with her family.
Children must turn 4 years old prior to the start of the program.
Children should bring a snack, water bottle, bagged lunch each day.
Because we are outdoors, we ask that you apply sunscreen prior to dropping your child off each morning. We also ask that you have your child bring water shoes, a hat, and a change of clothing.
