Join Salem Park, Recreation, and Community Services for our Fabulous Friday Field Trips!
Emails will be sent out prior to each field trip with specific details, but please plan on sending your child with a bag packed with a lunch, water, sunscreen, and a towel or something to sit on grass.
Please make sure that your contact information (phone and email) is correct, as this is how we will be communicating times, changes, rain dates, etc.
These trips are separate from our regular playground programs. Registration for a Mon-Thurs playground program does not reserve a spot on the field trips.

June 28th: Skyzone and Endicott Park- Get your jump on! This field trip consists of 90 minutes of jumping at Skyzone in Danvers, and then lunch/a picnic at Endicott Park. Skyzone socks are included in your purchase, but all parents must complete this waiver when you register. Please email or drop off your completed waiver to kmedeiros@salem.com
Any child without a waiver will not be able to jump. In the case of inclement weather, we will be returning to the Community Life Center after skyzone and pickup time will change. Emails will be sent prior to the trip confirming the time.

July 12: Forest River Fun Friday- Pack your bathing suits and sunglasses and meet us at Forest River for a day of swimming, activities and games, and arts and crafts at Pioneer Village with James Eric Rogers! Please send your child with a water, sunscreen, a towel, snack and a lunch.
Cost: $5
Ages: 6-12
Time/Location: Drop off at 9:00 at Forest River Park; Pickup at 2:00 PM at Forest River Park
Materials needed: sunscreen, water, towel, snack, lunch, clothes that are OK getting wet/dirty * This event is filled to capacity. Wait list only.
July 19th: Ipswich River Watershed Association- We are lucky to be going back to the Ipswich River Watershed Association for a day of nature walks, environmental education, and, of course, canoeing on the Ipswich River! As we will be in the woods and on the water, please send your child in clothes/shoes that are OK getting a bit wet or dirty.
Cost: $10
Ages: 7-12 (age minimum set by the IRWA)
Time/Location: Drop off at Community Life Center at 8:00 AM; Pickup at CLC at 2:00 PM
Materials needed: closed toe shoes (crocs are OK!), water bottle, lunch and snack, towel/something to sit on, sunscreen and a hat. * This trip is filled to capacity. Wait list only.
July 26th: Maritime Gloucester Museum- "Maritime Gloucester is a working waterfront, maritime museum, sea pocket aquarium all rolled into one exciting destination! Whether you are a visitor or a local, we have so much for you to do and see!". We will be learning about the history of Gloucester, see some of the animals that dwell there, and take a ride on The Ardelle (boat).
Cost: $30 Registration for this trip closes at 8:00pm on Tuesday, July 16th.

Time/Location: Drop off at CLC at 8:00 AM Pickup at CLC at 1:30 PM
Materials Needed: Snack, lunch, sunscreen/hat/suglasses, towel, closed-toes shoes, clothes that can get wet, a water bottle, something to sit on for lunch (ex. towel) if desired.

August 9: Real Pirate Museum and Salem Scavenger Hunt- Want to find out what it was like to be a real pirate? Come to the Real Pirate Museum to see artifacts, real treasure, and learn more about the Whydah Gally Pirate Ship. Participants will also be completing a Salem themed scavenger hunt before the museum tour.
Cost: $5
Ages: 6-12
Time/Location: Drop off at 9:00 AM at Salem Commons (playground entrance); Pickup at 1:30 at same place
Materials needed: Water, sunscreen, snack, a lunch, and something to sit on if preferred (towel, blanket), comfortable walking shoes. We will not be eating lunch until 1:00 PM, so please pack a snack if your child will want to eat something small before the museum. * This trip is filled to capacity. Wait list only.
August 16th: Forest River Fun Day- Meet us at Forest River Park for a day of crafts, games, swimming and fun! Please send your child with a water, sunscreen, bathing suit, a towel, and a lunch.
